Ray-Ban started out in 1936 in Rochester, New York, when prototype aviation sunglasses were created to reduce distraction and glare for pilots. The name “Ray-Ban” is derived of the ability of the glasses to limit UV and infra-red rays of light. The brand is known for their iconic Wayfarer and Aviator lines of sunglasses.
